Internal Affairs

The Internal Affairs (IA) Division is dedicated to preserving the integrity, professionalism, un-bias, and fairness of the agency by ensuring all members uphold its rules, policies, and Code of Conduct. Through impartial investigations into allegations of misconduct, abuse of authority, policy violations, and other disciplinary matters, IA safeguards the agency’s standards and promotes accountability at every rank. By reviewing evidence, conducting fair investigations, and recommending appropriate resolutions, the division helps foster a respectful, transparent, and trustworthy environment where every member is held to the same high standard of conduct, strengthening the agency’s reputation and unity.

One standard, every rank. Internal Affairs answers to the agency’s rules, not to rank — every report is reviewed on evidence alone, and no member is above or beneath the same process.

Mission

To protect the integrity of SIA by holding every member — regardless of rank, division, or tenure — to the same standard of conduct, and to resolve every allegation fairly, discreetly, and on the evidence.

Internal Affairs is not here to punish. It is here to establish what actually happened, to protect members who are wrongly accused just as firmly as it acts on genuine misconduct, and to keep the agency a place people trust enough to speak up in.

What IA Handles

Misconduct

Behaviour that breaches the Code of Conduct, in base or in agency channels.

Abuse of Authority

Rank used for personal advantage, favouritism, or pressure on lower ranks.

Policy Violations

Breaches of agency policy, promotion rules, or division procedure.

Disciplinary Review

Review of contested records and the consistency of issued penalties.

Conflict & Bias

Complaints of unfair treatment, harassment, or biased decision-making.

Standards Assurance

Spot-checks that agency procedure is applied the same way everywhere.

How an Investigation Works

  • 1. Report — A member, or any rank of leadership, submits an allegation with whatever evidence exists.
  • 2. Assessment — IA confirms the matter falls within its remit and assigns an investigator with no involvement in the incident.
  • 3. Evidence — Screenshots, logs, and statements are collected from every side before any conclusion is formed.
  • 4. Right of Reply — The member concerned is told what is alleged and is given the opportunity to respond.
  • 5. Findings — The investigator reports what the evidence does and does not support.
  • 6. Recommendation — IA recommends a resolution — no further action, guidance, or a disciplinary outcome — which is applied through the portal’s normal approval chain.

Impartial

Investigators never handle a case they are personally involved in.

Confidential

Reports and evidence stay inside the division while a case is open.

Evidence-Led

Findings rest on what can be shown, never on reputation or rumour.

Reporting an Issue

Any member may bring a matter to Internal Affairs. A report is strongest when it includes the names involved, roughly when it happened, and any screenshots or logs you still have.

  • Contact an IA Overseer or Co-Overseer directly, or open a ticket in the SIA Discord.
  • Reports are handled discreetly — the details are shared only with the members working the case.
  • Already have a record you believe was issued unfairly? Appeal it from your portal account.
  • Knowingly filing a false or malicious report is itself a breach of the Code of Conduct.

Joining Internal Affairs

IA positions are appointed rather than applied for in bulk. The division looks for members with a clean record, sound judgement, and the discretion to handle sensitive information — the ability to stay neutral about people you know matters more than rank. If that sounds like you, speak to an IA Overseer or a member of Foundation.
